About The Book
The author tells of his journey, starting as an eight month old infant, with his family and their migration west at the beginning of the Great Depression. The migration took more than a year and began in Oklahoma, continued through Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. The family moved from cotton patch to cotton patch and were near starvation. His early beginnings set the stage for an early life of abject poverty.
He tells of the desperate, slow crawl from poverty to the realization that he had drive, ambition and talent. He had an alcoholic father who deprived his entire family from even the basic necessities of life as well as contributing to a very dysfunctional family.
Tom tells of how at an early age, he took advantage of every small opportunity to advance himself and contribute to the stabilization and bettement of his family. Tom tells of the tremendous opportunity the Navy afforded him to get to fly and start his climb to a much better life for himself and his family. He used this opportunity to expand his horizon by accomplishing more than was expected. He achieved a substantial income in the Navy.
Today the author has attained the ultimate success as a real estate developer and builder. He is the chairman and chief executive officer of six corporations and many times over a millionaire. He now has the opportunity to help others achieve success and happiness by following in his footsteps. Tom continues to lead and inspire others on a day-to-day basis. He has a hands-on style over all of his enterprises.
